Honky Cat Pianos
Overview
Honky Cat Pianos is an all request piano show where the crowd gets to pick the set list from thousands of songs ranging from 1950's rock n' roll to modern R&B, pop and hip hop. Just write down a song on the request slip and slap it on the piano. Chances are, we know it. We are a guy/girl team who have been doing this professionally for over 2 decades, so we've got most of the bases covered when it comes to your taste in music. Wether you want to sing along, dance or just try to stump us and make us pull a song out of our behind, it's all up to you. Depending on the size of the venue and/or event, we can provide dueling pianos, pianos and drums, single piano and single piano with drums.

February 24, 2026Great Duo!
I was so pleased with Honky Cat dueling pianos for our small event that we had in Austin. They read the vibes of the crowd and were so flexible. Would definitely hire again!

What to expect
We set up in multiple arrangements depending on what you need. We can provide a single piano player or dueling pianos, both with or without drums. The show is an all-request sing-along formula. We set up our own pianos with baby grand shells and a PA system (unless otherwise specified). Every table will be provided with request slips and pens for the audience to bring up to the stage. We also promote heavy audience interaction as we play and banter with the crowd.
About
John and Summer have over 20 years of experience in the dueling piano industry. John is a native of Boston, MA, and was trained in Jazz from the age of 7. He graduated from Texas A&M in College Station and went on the road with Red Dirt country bands all over the state of Texas. In Austin, he began to train as a singer and dueling piano player. He met Summer while playing at Pat O'Brien's on the River Walk in San Antonio, where they both had a residency until its closure in late 2025.
Summer grew up in Del Rio, TX. She is a self-taught piano player and sight reader. She was brought up singing and competing in the choir. She graduated from the University of Texas and made a living cutting her teeth in the music industry on 6th Street, as well as traveling around the state, playing shows from San Antonio to Dallas and beyond.
Additional booking notes
We provide our own lighting and sound unless the venue specifies that they have their own. All we require is an outlet near the staging area to connect to power.
