One of the lonesomest, hard-drivingest traditional bluegrass bands alive. Over several decades High Country has earned its place as the West Coast's premier traditional bluegrass band. Strongly influenced by the classic styles of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs and the Stanley Brothers, the band's blend of banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, guitar and bass delivers the upbeat excitement of true bluegrass music.
What a fantastic band! We had High Country as the band at Cocktail Hour at our outdoor wedding. They were polished, sharp, tight musically and vocally. Everyone talked about how much they loved them long after the wedding was over. I wish I had hired them for the entire night rather than switchg to a DJ for the dance later. I could not have been happier with their performance.
Response from High Country:
Thanks so much for the nice review. We enjoyed playing your wedding, and wish you both happiness and a long life together.
I honestly couldn't believe how incredible this band was. So far above and beyond our wildest expectations! I hired them to play for my wife's 50th birthday party (we went with a BBQ & bluegrass theme), and our 40+ guests were blown away by their talent. I would book them again in a heartbeat AND I will totally go catch one of their regular gigs next time I can! They were that good!
Response from High Country:
Thanks for the great review, Emily. We enjoyed playing for the the party -- nice folks. Our website is www.highcountrybluegrass.com ; and all our gigs are posted there.
