Born in Oceanside, California but raised in Savannah, Georgia, Marquice L. Williams grew up accustomed to hundred-year-old oaks instead of the west coast’s poignant palm trees. Embracing the southern language as his own, he found himself quickly adopted by the hostess city’s local arts community. Since then, Marquice has been featured on stages across the country for his spellbinding poetry performance and is co-director of the reputable Spitfire Poetry Group.
