The trio from Winterthur manage to mix the many known musical puzzle pieces and build them together in a completely new way. Weren’t the Lego aeroplanes the best which you have built yourself after your shopbought fireengine dropped on the floor and split into all its pieces?

HATHORS aren’t a kit, no blueprint, no copy, but fresh and straight forward „2015“.

It’s the variety of the many musical influences, the quotations… less the Seattle with its 70ies references, even though the album cover picks up that aesthetic. HATHORS are the generation, who know the grunge-explosion only from documentaries and their parents vinyl collection, after oneself seeing Refused, collecting metal records and soaked up the alternative rock of the 90ies, and yet you still feel the wild, bare rockspirit which creates that Seattle Fame.

For „Brainwash“ it was the declared goal of the trio, to capture the raw energy and power of their live shows on tape, which brought HATHORS to festivals and the clubscene around Europe and the USA. For the recording, their live engineer Jean-Claude Pache was committed, after that, non other than John Agnello made the mix who has already worked for Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and even Madrugada. And „Mastering Buddha“ Dan Suter rounded of the sound. Indeed it is of advantage, to have had the right mentors, watching the right TV-documentaries und collected the right albums…
