What to Expect
A mixture of originals and covers, riffing off of the audience for a great night of music, storytelling, and fun.
Israeli born and New Jersey-based singer/songwriter Hadar Baron has always known she has wanted to be a singer. Growing up in the small village of Yehud surrounded by a musical family, she would watch the Israeli equivalent of American Idol and wish to be on the stage. With resilience, she fought her way to the stage for the first time in the third grade, and has been performing ever since.
Even before performing, Hadar has been writing songs. Eventually, she began experimenting with acoustic guitar and piano, teaching herself the basics of each instrument to complement her songs. With time, she began taking lessons and studying music and the voice, which she does even to this day as a music major at Ramapo College of New Jersey.
A balanced blend of indie, pop, and acoustic alternative, Hadar’s music is hard to place in a specific genre. Her influences include Missy Higgins, Sara Bareilles, and Ingrid Michealson, along with Beyonce, Adele, and Amy Winehouse. Inspired by personal experiences, Hadar’s original songs are a result of using singing/songwriting as a cathartic and therapeutic process that allows her to be vulnerable, honest, and truthful to both herself and her audience. Using original lyrics, melodies, and harmonies, she hopes to reach people and to connect listeners to music the way she has been connected to it almost all her life. When asked what she hopes to achieve in her career, Hadar mentioned that she simply wants “Just to perform, really. To be out there doing what I love and sharing my music with others.”
