Overview
I am a leader by nature, and am very passionate and experienced in this craft. I have worked as a nurse, educator, and mentor for many years- and enjoy sharing what I've learned over time. I have given talks on many panels at several conventions, ranging in topics from cultural competency, addiction and recovery, invisible illness, non-pharmaceutical behavioral interventions, interpersonal relationships, mental health, to even infection control, first aide, and fire safety. I use humor, humility, and sometimes awkward honesty in my presentation- and I find a higher retention of vital information from this. I love to find a person's 'sweet spot' of learning and get that light bulb to come on.

What to expect
When I come to speak at your event, I intend to tailor my presentation to your demographic. I use humor and positivity to relay my message. I never want your audience to leave feeling as though there's no hope, or that there's nothing in their power to help in some way. I want my presentation to end having instilled a sense of solidarity or encouragement into the listener. I am well organized and linear in my talks- which make them easy to follow. I am also very professional in my presence and delivery- with a touch of humility and humorous honesty on the side.
When I sing at your event, expect a well practiced and versatile performance, with your wishes and style being the core of my singing. I have a large voice for a small person, and enjoy challenging myself vocally and culturally. My range is wide, my volume large, and emotions bared. I intend to portray the emotions desired from your chosen song with sincerity.
About
I am a Registered Nurse, and mother of two children. My husband and I have celebrated 18 crazy years together. I grew up on a farm, and currently live in a small town not too far from my family. I work as a Case Manager with Avera and LOVE what I do! I haven't always been the best sister, friend, wife, or mother. But as I grow and learn, I improve. I wish to pass this knowledge on to others who may be on the same path I was in the past. I have a rare condition called Narcolepsy- which is invisible yet none the less impacts my day to day life. I now volunteer with several organizations geared towards recovery and quality of life. Public speaking comes naturally to me, and I find that I can reach people through my life experiences, and the lessons I've learned as a result.
Additional booking notes
I require very little for my speaking engagements. If a power point is available, that is great, but if it's just little old me in front of a few dozen people, that is just as well! A microphone may be needed for larger groups.
When I sing at any given event, music may be needed. Either a back track on a sound system, or instrumental accomplice will suffice. If in desperate need of accompaniment, I can surely assist with the search! A capella is also something I am comfortable with- as I have has plenty of practice in the shower!
