Garrett Hitmar & Root Down did not disappoint! They are a young group that sounds like they lived in multiple generations, due to their style, connection and all around vibe to them. They were great in their communication with us and were very punctual. I would definitely recommend them for any event. We loved them!

We used Garret Hitmar & Root Down Collective for a 450 person annual event that comes with Big Expectations in downtown Raleigh. They crushed it! I overheard so many people comment on the "great choice for entertainment" , "did you hear that saxophonist?" , "I would listen to any one of these guys as a solo performer"
They hit all points we requested, were very easy to work with, excellent communication, and extremely pleasant individuals!! Highly Recommend!!!!

Garret and his band always know exactly how to create the energy for the perfect live performance. We’ve had him play over 20 times at our venue and our crowd always has a fantastic time. Cannot recommend him for live jazz enough!

Garret and his crew are totally who you want for your next event involving jazz! If they can improvise 2 + hours of live Mario Kart games, they can do anything. They are young, but total professionals with tons of passion — they have dedicated their lives to producing immaculate sounds. Definitely hit them up, you will not be let down by their quality and energy!
