Influences and inspiration
was a young woman of 28 in a foreign country with no close relative to whom I could confide and a husband who hardly came home at night, a heavy drinker and promiscuous. He defamed my character every chance he got even tried to poison the mind of our children against me.
No one knew my pain,,, no one could see my scars. No one heard my tears at night .No one knew the level of my depression. I kept it all bottled up inside.
The pain of humiliation and betrayal is a constant nagging pain. It does not go away, but weighs heavily upon your heart and Knots in your tummy, loss of appetite.
I could care for others, but I couldn't care for myself. I showed love towards others, but I couldn't love myself. I became like a robot ...just doing what was expected of me. No feeling .....No Heart...
I had hit rock bottom, face down.
Remember this. "When you hit rock bottom, there is only one way to go. And that is upward."
I cried out to God often.
"Why God? Don’t You see? Do You care? Why won’t You answer my prayers? Will this ever end? I did not know that God was actually setting things up for me.
And He made a way!!!...
One night, a spark ignited in my soul. Like a strong wind whipping up the Sea, God whispered in the midst of my pain, bringing clarity to my confusion and grief. Suddenly I felt myself being lifted above my suffering! I could look down and see it like a dark cloud.
At that moment, I knew that I would bounce back from adversity and reinvent my life.
I knew too that I could not control my circumstances, but God Can !
.
My life was about to change. The situation surrounding might not change. Change had to start with me.
These thoughts revived my senses. I would no longer remain trapped in my pain, but was ready to
Stand up
rise up.
Speak up!
And with the help of my God, I was able to Free myself from this emotional bondage.
"Always Fight your battles with prayers
You will always win!"
