August 15, 2020Wonderful virtual flamenco performance with great sound!
Aurora and Basilio gave a wonderful 15 minute performance for my friend's virtual birthday party! They were clear with communication and responded very quickly. They were on time and professional. We were so thankful that they also had great sound quality. They both sang with such warmth and passion and we had the pleasure of hearing Basilio play flamenco guitar beautifully! Aurora was poised and soulful as she danced flamenco. They provided ambience and set the tone for the evening. We were grateful to have them be a part of the celebration!

Thanks again for choosing us. We spent a lot of time in the afternoon testing all the sound levels for Zoom, since it is harder to get a clear audio than something like FaceBook Live. The response of all your participants was great. It was a great opportunity for us to get another online medium under our performance belt during these times.

August 2, 2019Flamenco Latino Review by NY Latin Culture Online
We promoted a concert at our Studio Theater. NY Latin Culture Reviewed it online: "… the perfect accent to a warm July night… Basilio Georges’ Flamenco guitar set the tone… And boy can Aurora sing. She has an amazingly bright and youthful voice… What a surprising combination of different energies.”

About
Basilio Georges is a flamenco guitarist, singer and composer who arrived in NYC in 1974 as a jazz and salsa musician. In 1977, he began studying flamenco. He and his wife Aurora Reyes toured with Jose Molina Bailes Españoles from 1983-85. In Madrid, he honed many accompaniment skills playing for classes of La Tati, Faico, Ciro, and Manolete during the 1980s, and played for many local singers at various flamenco peñas.
From (phone number hidden)0 he composed and arranged pieces for Carlota Santana Flamenco Vivo and Andrea Del Conte Danza España. He has collaborated with American Bolero for many years. In NYC, he has accompanied Jesule de Utrera, Juan Siddi, Natalia Meiriño, Antonio Granjero, Sebastian Roman, Jesus el Almendro, Rafael Fajardo, Concha Vargas, Antonio Hildalgo, Elena Andujar and Ivan Vargas.
Basilio and Aurora founded Flamenco Latino, and ran a studio theater for ten years in Midtown Manhattan, offering classes, workshops and performances. Flamenco Latino has produced many unique concerts combining flamenco with tap and jazz, collaborated with Thalia Spanish Theatre, and performed in Knoxville Opera’s “Carmen.”
Basilio’s CDs are “Retrospectiva Vol. 1: It’s About Damn Time,” and “Cante Flamenco En Nueva York,” with Luis Vargas.
Additional booking notes
Guitarist and dancers can travel by public transportation with compact sound equipment. If hiring dancers, a wooden surface of at least 8' W x 4' D is necessary. Dancing on tiles is possible, but sound of footwork is very limited. Slippery surfaces are bad. Any hard surface mounted over cement is bad for the dancers' knees. Carpeting is not possible for flamenco dance.
