Overview
I help elevate Weddings and Corporate events with modern, high-level guitar performances tailored to a sophisticated vibe & romantic elegance.
Musical styles I play mostly revolve around the genres of Flamenco, Bossa Nova/Brazilian, and Jazz as well as Popular and/or recent Top 40’s songs, with my own twist to them.
I can provide music in Solo format, or with a small ensemble.

My husband and I hired James to play guitar at our wedding, and I highly recommend working with James. He shared what to expect on the day of our wedding and was very accommodating, answering our questions.
He showed up on time and was very professional the entire time and was so friendly and happy. He played songs as our guests walked in, and then played a few processional songs that we selected from a nice list he provided.
During cocktail hour, he played songs from his repertoire that matched the mood very well. He played a gentle mix of classical, flamenco, jazz songs (maybe more genres!) As a solo musician, he doesn't take up a lot of real estate but he made a huge impact. We had multiple guests throughout the evening tell us how wonderful James was, how much they enjoyed his music.
My husband appreciated that James is able to play his music on his own - he didn't use a background track to play on top of.
James is also very gracious and kind. It's obvious that he takes pride in his work. I would not hesitate to hire him again for any future events.

We hired James for a cocktail party and it was a perfect fit! The music was engaging and entertaining but not too overbearing. Instrumental music was a perfect choice for our type of event as we had people talking.

About
James Labrosse was 18 when he moved to Spain to learn Flamenco. He’s now based in New York City and performs world music with his ensemble to audiences across the North East.
James was born in a Spanish-speaking neighborhood in south Florida. He grew up in a French Canadian home and is fluent in French and Spanish. He has been playing music since he was 13 and graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production.
James says his solo and band performances take audiences on “a musical journey across the world” and his group, the James Labrosse Collective, creates a “cultural mélange of sounds.”
