Fine and Mellow is comprised of vocalist Lilan Kane, and flugelhorn/trumpeter Daniel Herrera. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the duo incorporates guitarists, pianists, and upright bassists to enrich the jazz and soul elements found in their diverse and timeless repertoire. With song selections spanning jazz standards, pop favorites, bossa nova, and classic R&B, the band reinvents each piece with artistry and finesse creating a sound that is comfortable and creative.

Fine and Mellow really came through on every single aspect of our event and exceeded our expectation! Communication while booking was direct, cordial and simple. Everyone showed up on the dot! No lateness thank God. They were dressed clean cut and all had wonderful personalities and demeanor. They were respectful and more importantly, they really delivered. The music was sweet and smooth jazz and bossa nova. We were a group of senior citizens and we could converse with no problem while enjoying the band. I highly recommend these guys if you're looking for a 5-star event with no problems! Thank you Fine and Mellow!

I hired this group to play for our daughter's engagement party in our backyard. We went with the duo plus guitar and they were amazing! It was the perfect style and volume for our party and our guests kept commenting on how great they were. From start to finish they were friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Lilan Kane is an award-winning vocalist who captures the soul of Aretha, the charm of Ella, and the sassiness of Etta. She has opened for the likes of Hall & Oates, Chicago, Sharon Jones, the Doobie Brothers, and more. Undoubtedly diverse in her vocal stylings and skill set, her sound reveals influences of jazz, soul, and r&b that blend a timeless yet modern flavor. An accomplished vocalist, bandleader, and endearing performer, She has become one of the most prominent singers and bandleaders in the Bay Area.
Trumpet and flugelhorn player Daniel Herrera delivers melodic stories with style and grace. Having developed a unique sound that draws influence from jazz, funk, R&B and even reggae, he captivates audiences with an effortless approach, stellar musicianship and a charming demeanor. He has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe, playing some of the world's most renowned jazz and music festivals.
