Energico Jazz

When hired, you'll receive a group of professionals who are punctual and dress and behave professionally and who performs equally as well. We bring our own sound for small to medium-sized rooms and could include other options and modifications, such as an extension to our band (e.g. Female Jazz vocalists, String Quartets, Horn Section, DJ, Belly Dancer, etc.) Your audience would receive an energetic and engaging performance leaving them entertained, smiling and an event to remember.

Hailing from the Washington, DC, Metro area, Energico is a Jazz-Fusion band with influences ranging from Chick Corea to Kirk Whalum, Yellowjackets and Jeff Lorber. With over 100 years of combined experience, the versatile Energico band is ready to perform for an array of corporate and formal events and festivals, as well as skillfully execute studio/session work.

Initially joining forces in early 2016 for what was to be a one-time performance for a formal fundraising event, Energico's delightful live show garnered them numerous requests to play for additional events and venues. Since then, they have opened for singer Anita King and comedians Curt Gaskins, Sean Sarvis and Gee Gee Wong to name a few.

The core band members are comprised of Will Greenwade, Chris Rhodes, Theo Scott, Jason Kearse and Michael Herndon. They play a dynamic blend of Straight- Ahead, Fusion, Smooth and Latin/World Jazz all while infusing a well-traveled, international feel. With the majority of the members meeting in service to the US Navy & the US Army Band, this immensely talented group of composers, producers and arrangers collectively bring those same common values of service, honor, integrity and duty to both the band and their performances.

Not only is Energico extremely entertaining and engaging, they're easy to work with, too! Their band leader Michael Herndon will happily work with you to ensure your complete satisfaction for your special event.

We are flexible in terms of stage, requirements. For small rooms, we require very little sound equipment which we bring.

For medium-sized rooms, such as hotel ballrooms for 100-150 persons, we also bring our own sound.

However; for larger venues or outdoors, a sound engineer with appropriate equipment will be required. If needed, we will recommend engineers for you. For weddings at historic hotels (without modern electric outlets) may require "power drops" or generators which is handled by the respective venues and varies upon your requirements. (e.g., a band w/ equipment, a DJ, lights, etc.)

Our preferred minimal stage size/performing area is 20' x 15'. A stage is unnecessary unless you require that we be elevated.
