January 11, 2023A little over two years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Edna at a Networking meeting. I spoke to her for just a few minutes but it was enough for me to know that I needed her help. I was at a place in my life that I had not motivation and felt unhappy with most aspects of my life. I thought I was doing everything right but somehow it was not coming together. It took some time but I finally made an appointment. Iyanla Vanzant, Oprah Winfrey, and Shirley Chilsom are three of my most influential people. Iyanla is an inspiration to me because she is a strong black woman who has overcome many challenges in her life. Oprah is a role model because she is a self-made billionaire who has achieved great success in her career. Shirley Chilsom is someone who indelibly marked my life because she looked like me and showed me as a young child that I can be and do anything.
I first learned about Iyanla Vanzant when I was watching her show on television. I was drawn to her strength and her ability to help people overcome their problems. Iyanla's books and speeches have also helped me to grow as a person.
Oprah Winfrey is another person who has inspired me greatly. She is an example of how anyone can achieve their dreams, no matter where they come from. I admire Oprah's strength, her intelligence, and her compassion.
Shirley Chilsom was my first black teacher. She was a kind and patient woman who made me feel like I could do anything. She showed me that I didn't have to be afraid to be myself, and that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.
