The Echelon Quartet has been providing exceptional music for weddings and other special events since 2007. The quartet specializes in performing their own arrangements of rock, jazz and pop tunes but is equally comfortable playing classical favorites.
I worked with Leah to hire Echelon Strings for my best friends wedding in August of 2015. I had hired them previously in July of 2014 for my 30th birthday party.
Not only do they bring something incredibly unique to the table with their song selections, but they do so with professionalism, excellent communication and great energy!
Leah was always quick to respond to our quirky requests which included writing parts to a song that the bride had written for the groom as well as recording it as wedding favors fo hand out. The end result was more than we had hoped for and really added something special and romantic to an already beautiful wedding.
The quartet is delightful, talented and really adds quality to any special occasion.
Being a musician myself I highly recommend them, with no reservations!
Response from Echelon Quartet:
Thanks, Aimee! It was a blast working with you and Kelly!
We contacted Echelon Quartet for our wedding ceremony with a unique request: we wanted Foo Fighters music played throughout the ceremony. Echelon Quartet responded very enthusiastically and actually arranged the songs we wanted themselves. We got an original arrangement just for our ceremony. My favorite part was how gorgeous the music still was, even though it was rock and roll. We got our dream that we never thought possible--hearing our favorite songs as we walked up and down the aisle. We have bragged about the incredible music Echelon Quartet provided over and over. It was definitely (excuse the cliche) a dream come true.
Response from Echelon Quartet:
Thanks Sarah! The Foo Fighters tunes are one of our favorite special requests ever!
I had an outdoor wedding in 2012 and I wanted authentic and very elegant classic music during my ceremony. I was given a reccommendation to hire the Echelon Quartet and they were everything I dreamed of. They had really great sound quality, they played all the pieces that I requested, and they were on time. They were professional and reasonable. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I absolutely reccomend hiring this quartet for your special event.
Response from Echelon Quartet:
Ah Sherri! Your ceremony was a dream! (thanks for providing the setting for that amazing outdoor shot, too). We SINCERELY appreciate the review!
I had booked them for my wedding in 2011 and they were amazing! I got so many compliments from our guests on how great they sounded, having the quartet added more elegance to our wedding. They arrived on time and were very helpful making the song selections. I had a certain song I wanted played when I walked down the aisle and then at least five different songs played which they helped me pick out, each one played beautifully. I highly recommend them for any event!!
Response from Echelon Quartet:
Thanks, Sarah! It was a pleasure to be part of your big day!

The Echelon Quartet is not your mother's string quartet (but we can be, if that's what you want!). What can we say? Our classical twist on everything from Tool to Florence and the Machine (and everything in between) tends to turn heads. But, if you're looking for some lovely classical music for your wedding or other special event, we can do that too!
The Echelon String Quartet is equally comfortable performing with classical chamber ensembles as they are sharing the stage with rock bands. A large part of their repertoire includes their own arrangements of everything from rock music to jazz standards and audiences are entertained by their fun interpretations of contemporary classical music.
The four inaugural members of the Echelon Quartet met while pursuing degrees in music from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. During their time at UW-Whitewater, the group received a National Undergraduate Research Grant to commission and perform a piece of music by a living composer. The result of the grant was "Seven Sultry Gothic Love Songs", a seven-movement work for string quartet and percussion by New York-based composer Eric Schwartz.
Other recent performances include participation in the Madison, Wisconsin Broom Street Theater Sessions and the Wurst Times Music Festival. The Echelon String Quartet was also the resident string quartet for the 2012 and 2013 seasons of the Taneycomo Festival Orchestra in Branson, Missouri.
In 2015, the Echelon Quartet changed their membership when they recruited violinist Emily Knutson to join EQ's already impressive roster of musicians. We look forward to new endeavors with our newest member!
The quartet requires four armless chairs at an average height (standard dining room chairs will do), adequate light for reading music at a three foot to five foot distance, a 12 x 12 foot space free of traffic and obstacles and an area away from harsh climate variations including (but not restricted to): temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, rain, and intense heat.
Typically, we don't require amplification. If amplification is something you think you'll need, please discuss with us and we'll see what kind of solution we can come up with!
