Overview
City Six Strings was founded in 2020 by violinist Sarah Becker and cellist McKinley Glasser. Since then, we’ve grown to accommodate performances at 200-300 events per year throughout Ohio. Though we specialize in weddings, we also play for fundraisers, house parties, corporate events, and any function that could use the sound of strings (all of them!)
We believe in creating the perfect soundtrack for your special day. With our modular ensemble and customizable playlists, we’ve found that strings can work for any event and musical taste.

The musicians were perfect for us, very elegant and sophisticated. The violinist and cello music selections at our wedding were perfect. The wedding guests enjoyed the music immensely. We picked out a full range of classical songs that we felt best fit the mood of our wedding, and they were performed perfectly. Tana and I are very happy with their performance and would recommend them.

October 22, 2025Wonderful performance!
We had a duo (violin & cello) at our daughter's wedding, 10/18/25, at Windows-on-the-River in downtown Cleveland. It was beautiful. We also had them play at cocktail hour. Unfortunately, they were drowned out by the conversation happening in the room. They were supposed to set up on the lobby walkway outside of cocktail hour but instead set up in the actual room. This is no fault of their own. The "coordinator" at Windows should have directed them and obviously did not. So disappointed in that!

Price range: $300 and up
Gig length: 60 - 300 minutes
What to expect
Our wedding service includes 30 minutes of prelude music as your guests arrive, the duration of the ceremony (including special song requests), and one or two postlude songs to usher your guests out.
We also offer cocktail hour and reception music as a separate, hourly service.
About
City Six Strings was founded in 2020 by violinist Sarah Becker and cellist McKinley Glasser. Since then, we’ve grown to accommodate performances at 200-300 events per year throughout Ohio. Though we specialize in weddings, we also play for fundraisers, house parties, corporate events, and any function that could use the sound of strings (all of them!)
Our pool of 30 musicians are classically trained, holding degrees and certificates from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Eastman School of Music, Cleveland Institute of Music, Carnegie Mellon University, and more. Despite our classical backgrounds, we are comfortable in any genre; our members have appeared with acts from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra to Machine Gun Kelly to Michael Bublé on stages from Severance Hall to London’s West End.

Additional booking notes
We arrive at the event up to 30 minutes early to set up.
We will need armless chairs equal to the number of performers.
Unfortunately, we cannot perform in precipitation or in conditions below 60F
