Jazz 'n It Up

Overview

One man band featuring sax, ukulele or Q-chord instrumentation either as a static performer or on the move covering most genres including children's entertainment, seniors, special events, fairs, festivals, corporate and parades.
New Feature for 2020 - one-man-marching-drum-band featuring digital drums tied in with my back-beat drum rig. Unique entertainment for your next event as well as all the other instruments I carry plus an electric kazoo. If I was any more mobile I'd have to wear roller blades.

Available for Eastern Ontario as far west as Kingston, East to Cornwall or North to Kazabazua. Further distances to be negotiated.

Booking information

Price range: $150.00 to no limit

Languages: English, Russian

Gig length: 30 - 300 minutes

What to expect

Strolling entertainment with sound system worn with drum rig percussion ensemble with backing tracks while playing digital or acoustic saxes, electric ukulele or Suzuki Q-chord synthesizer.
For a quieter event the system can be pared to its bare bones with only a worn mini-boombox and options on ukulele, sax or synthesize for a strolling sound without the heavy drum rig sound. Also able to perform while seated in an out of the way area providing background ambiance for any event matching the mood with the appropriate genre of music from Abba to Zydeco with latin, celtic, Disney, family, contemporary, classical, pop, country & western as well as jazz covering over two centuries of music. Any show is tailored to your needs and costuming to match is available as well.

You can also book me as a children's/family magic show, balloon artist, balloon decorator, daredevil stunts, fire show, puppet show or strolling mascot including a strolling fortune teller wearing the booth. If you want something different - I'm the guy to call. Package deals available.
As a bonus upgrade you can even book a ukulele video instructional session for up to 20 (more if you have your own ukuleles) with the songs projected on screen so you can play along. Ancilliary percussion instruments are also available so you can help keep the beat if you can't play ukulele or guitar. Sing along can also be accommodated as the lyrics are projected as well and microphones are available.

Additional booking notes

I'm completely self-contained and can perform anywhere with no need for external power for up to two hours before needing a re-charge. All equipment has battery power eliminating the need for extensions in an outdoor environment or while strolling.
For larger venues I can provide up to 600 watts through a triple Sampson 300 tripod mounted system for surround sound coverage in all directions. Small mixer available and microphones should you wish to make PAs.
For evening events my portable sound systems, drum rigs and umbrellas are all covered with battery twinkle lights.
I can even provide small back-drops for staging with a 5'W x 8'H tripod or up to 20ft using a 10'H x20' muslin backdrop with hand painted artwork showing stage lighting. Other options are available.

Influences and inspiration

I'm a product of the 70's but I enjoy playing and listening to most genres. I have an extensive collection of the Beatles and can play every song they ever wrote not counting the ones they covered but including the ones they gave away.
Disney tunes are a hobby and I've spent ages collecting lost songs from their catalogs and have played them at the annual 'Wings Take Flight' event in Ottawa.
I'm also working on cello but it is a work in progress. I've busked with it a few times but like Pablo Casals at 93 - I'll keep practising.

Setup requirements

Nothing needed other than the actual stage and even then - I'm mobile so I can set up almost anywhere.
