Audiences can expect an engaging, thoughtful, and deeply human experience that blends storytelling, insight, humor, and practical encouragement. I create a welcoming atmosphere where people feel seen without being pressured to disclose personal experiences.
Each presentation is tailored to the audience and occasion. Programs may include an inspirational keynote, an interactive discussion, an author talk about historical research and the writing process, selected readings, audience Q&A, and book signing. My talks can be adapted for secular, academic, community, or faith-based settings.
Whether the focus is resilience, women’s empowerment, sacred worth, writing overlooked women back into history, or the journey from idea to published book, attendees will leave with meaningful questions, renewed perspective, and a stronger sense of their own voice and agency.
Dr. Lauree Brown is an author, speaker, theologian, educator, and advocate whose work explores women’s voices, resilience, identity, and sacred worth. Drawing from her lived experience as a domestic violence survivor, her academic background in psychology, anthropology, ministry, and metaphysical theology, and more than a decade of work supporting people through education and community programs, she brings both depth and warmth to every audience.
Her signature talk, “Beyond Survival” helps women move beyond the identities, expectations, and experiences that have defined them. Her message is honest, hopeful, and accessible to both faith-based and secular audiences.
Dr. Brown is also the author of the bestselling historical novel *Beyond the Well*, which reimagines the life of the Samaritan woman as a full human story of survival, transformation, and reclaimed identity. Her author talks invite audiences behind the scenes of historical research, creative writing, publication, and the process of restoring dimension and dignity to women whose stories have traditionally been told by others.
Whether speaking at a conference, women’s gathering, church, library, university, book club, or community event, Dr. Brown creates thoughtful, engaging conversations that leave audiences feeling seen, challenged, and empowered to imagine what may exist beyond the stories they have inherited.
I can adapt to a wide variety of venues and audience sizes.
For most presentations, I request:
* A wireless handheld or lavalier microphone for larger rooms
* A podium or small table, if available
* A projector and screen with HDMI connection when slides are included
* Access to a standard electrical outlet

* A bottle or glass of water
Standard room lighting is appropriate; no specialized staging or lighting is required. I typically arrive 30–45 minutes before the event for setup and a brief sound check.
Presentations can be customized in length and format, including keynotes, workshops, panel discussions, author talks, book-club conversations, Q&A sessions, and virtual appearances. Please share accessibility needs, audience demographics, venue limitations, and requested content in advance so I can tailor the experience appropriately.
