About

Laetitia S. Wells, a native of Reidsville, North Carolina, is the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William N. Wells Sr. She experienced a life-changing conversion to Jesus Christ at the age of eight and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in Reidsville. From a young age, Laetitia served as pianist for the Junior Choir, BTU, and Girl Scouts, and was editor of The Zion Times, a monthly church newsletter.

After graduating with honors from Reidsville Senior High School, she enrolled at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, majoring in chemistry. While at Virginia Tech, she was a featured soloist with The New Virginians, performing at civic and corporate events nationwide, and received the “Outstanding Soloist” award. Out of over 2,000 singers and dancers who auditioned, Laetitia was among 200 selected to perform at the 50th Presidential Inaugural Gala for President Ronald Reagan in 1980. Though initially pursuing a music career, God redirected her path toward preaching and teaching His Word.

After 25 years, Laetitia returned to higher education, enrolling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She graduated cum laude in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and became a lifetime member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and the Gamma Rho Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. From 2007 to 2010, she earned the Thomas B. Mackie Merit Full Scholarship for theological studies at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois, receiving her Master of Divinity degree. During seminary, she served on the Academic Program Committee, was Moderator for PASO (Pan-African Student Organization), and served as a Deacon, Worship Educational Assistant, and Session member. Her reflections were featured in McCormick’s Advent and Lenten devotional booklets, and she represented the seminary at the Presbyterian Racial Ethnic Seminarians Conference in Lake Tahoe. She also worked with RESCUE, a nonprofit supporting abused women, offering counseling and support.

Following graduation, Laetitia served as supply pastor at Mattoon Presbyterian Church in Greenville, South Carolina, and later preached at various churches in North Carolina. In March 2013, she was selected as a delegate to the 57th Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations, where the theme focused on “The Elimination and Prevention of All Forms of Violence Against Women and Girls.” She also participated as a Fellow in the NC INSPIRE Program, teaching middle school science across North Carolina. On October 22, 2013, she was approved by the Presbytery of Charlotte as a candidate for Minister of Word and Sacrament and served as full-time supply pastor at St. Paul Presbyterian Church in High Point, North Carolina, from December 2013 to July 2020.

In 2022, Laetitia earned her Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) degree from Living Epistle Bible College, where she now serves as instructor and Dean at Living Epistle Bible College 2.0 in Reidsville, North Carolina. She teaches College English, Christian Psychology, Church History, Greek, and biblical studies, including Ruth, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, and Philippians.

Minister Wells is a prolific preacher, proclaiming the Gospel across the United States and internationally in Sekondi, Ghana; Barranquilla, Colombia; and Ntagache, Tanzania. In Tanzania, she partnered with Good Shepherd Fellowship and Teamwork Ministries, residing at the City of Hope orphanage, which houses over 300 children, where she preached and trained local pastors. Through her ministry, teaching, and global outreach, Laetitia inspires individuals to embrace God’s calling, lead their best lives, and impact the world with faith, hope, and purpose.
