Overview
Dr Brian King is a psychologist turned comedian that has entertained audiences all over the world. By day conducting seminars on the health benefits of humor and stress management and by night practicing what he teaches in comedy clubs. Originally from New York, he began performing stand-up in San Francisco where he managed his own comedy club before moving to Los Angeles. He now calls North Carolina his home and is the best-selling author of several books, including The Art of Taking It Easy and The Laughing Cure.
He is also the founder and producer of The Unnecessaries, an improv comedy troupe based in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

We thought Doctor was just his stage name, but he is an actually published doctor who brought funny to the table both times we booked him. Very funny, smart and there is a finesse to his jokes and delivery. Most ppl want to buy your love, this guy, you want to love. Can't get enough! 10/10

What to expect
As a comedian, my humor draws from my life experiences as an older father with a doctorate degree. I am quick on my feet and enjoy audience interactions and crowd work over prepared material. Performing this way, I get to personalize the show for the moment and give the audience something that they know is truly unique. I do not get political or overly raunchy, but I am rarely 100% clean (although I can be).
As a speaker, I am often asked to speak on subjects relating to stress management and the healing benefits of humor, with overlapping content. My speaking appearances are always humorous, but it is not the same type of content you will hear at a comedy show.
