Overview
Douglas Daube is a church planter and the Lead Teaching Pastor of Creek Community Church. He is the host of the Simple Sentence Podcast. He has a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. He understands that any conference or event he speaks at might be one of the only times someone might hear the Gospel. So, he doesn't just tell funny stories and a simple Bible lesson (although he is a great storyteller). Instead, he goes deeply into the Scriptures to show the immense need for a saviour we all have. He does so in a way that will appeal to the non-Christian while also feeding the more mature believer.

Douglas was our headline speaker for our spring break mission trip to Florida where 81 students shared their faith everyday with college students on the beaches of Panama City Beach. He opened up God's Word to highlight the importance of evangelism and being a light for Jesus in many different ways as well as unpacking the book of Jonah. The entire mission trip was phenomenal as we share the gospel with 564 people and saw 161 people trust Jesus that week!

Douglas did a great job explaining how the Lord sees these issues of depression and anxiety, and what the Bible says about it. It was from the heart, organized, and important for kids and adults to hear.

What to expect
What you can expect from Douglas is a pastor who cares deeply about sharing Jesus with others. He will spend as much time as needed with people after a chapel service to speak and pray with them. He is authentic and laidback while at the same time a hard worker who will ensure that his messages are Scripture-based, Jesus-focused, and relevant.
About
Douglas grew up in a small town in Central Illinois. He thought he was a Christian because he attended a church. After his mother's death while he was in high school, he went on a downward spiral that almost ended in him taking his own life. During his first day at college at Illinois State University, he was stopped and befriended by some Cru students. Douglas eventually started going to a Bible Study and found the hope that he had so desperately needed. He encountered Jesus and now spends his life reaching out to teens hoping to share that same hope with them. He has been on staff with Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) and has been in pastoral ministry for almost 10 years. He is a husband to one wife, a father to two daughters, the former captain of his college Ultimate Frisbee team, and a fine connoisseur of dad jokes.
