How it all started
​DJ Retro, originally from Chicago, Illinois, and later finding his way to Saginaw, Michigan, is a true connoisseur of hip hop and RnB. With an unwavering love for music, he emerged as a student of music, with a deep appreciation for the classic sounds of the 90s. Enthralled by the burgeoning hip hop and RnB scene, he dedicated countless hours to honing his craft, perfecting his techniques, and developing an impeccable ear for rhythm and beats. During this formative period, DJ Retro discovered his talent for creating mixtapes, becoming a master curator of the hottest tracks and seamlessly blending them together. His mixtapes quickly gained popularity, establishing him as a go-to DJ for anyone yearning for a nostalgic journey through the golden era of 90s hip hop and RnB.

DJ Retro's dedication to the music of the 90s has garnered him a devoted following of fans who share his deep appreciation for the era.

Here are the essential technical requirements every event DJ needs to deliver a smooth, high-quality performance:
* Audio Playback Setup: Dual media players or a DJ controller, paired with a reliable laptop running dedicated software (Serato, Rekordbox, Traktor) and a secure backup audio source (phone/iPad).
* PA Sound System: Powered full-range top speakers sized to the venue/guest count, a dedicated subwoofer for full low-end response, and a high-quality audio interface or mixing board.
* Microphones: At least one wireless handheld microphone (UHF or digital) for announcements/MCing, plus a wired backup mic and extra XLR cables.
* Monitoring: High-isolation DJ headphones for cueing tracks and a dedicated booth monitor speaker to hear mixes clearly over ambient room noise.
* Power & Cabling: Heavy-duty power strips with surge protection, extension cords (25–50 ft), XLR/RCA audio cables, and gaffer tape to safely secure all cable runs.
