DJ Mami Miami

DJ Mami Miami is an absolutely amazing DJ! We couldn't recommend her more highly. She put together a playlist that felt unique to us while still being full of popular, fun songs that kept everyone dancing. She really listened to what we wanted and had such a broad knowledge of music that she could keep the energy going. Her equipment and setup worked well for us. She was also incredibly thoughtful and culturally sensitive. For our Jewish wedding, she helped coordinate the hora dance. Our guests loved her so much that several of them asked how they could book her for their own events!

Emilly is one of the most versatile and experienced DJs in town, and it showed. Her range and mixing made our wedding day feel magical. Even weeks later, our wedding guests were raving about this being the dance party they’ve ever been to! Every part of the day had its own sound: instrumental cinematic Latine ambient folk for the pre-ceremony and ceremony, classic Motown, rock and soul for cocktail hour, ambient salsa, cumbia, and son for the reception, and then hit after hit of Latine gay vibes for hours of dancing. Even our friends who never dance were pulled in — all are now die-hard DJ Mami Miami fans.

One standout moment: she played “Take Me Home, Country Roads” during a whole-group wedding photo, an homage to one of our homes, West Virginia. She also worked in Mexican classics like "Caballo Dorado" and "La Víbora de la Mar," that was so hyped it turned into a full-on moshpit with all of our guests. She had our youngest 3 year-old niece hanging out with her behind her set, trying out her headphones and helping her join in on the fun. She created memories we will all cherish forever.

I can't imagine anyone else nailing the exact vibes we wanted. Emilly has our highest recommendation: this isn't just a "wedding DJ" experience, it's having the most badass DJ curate the most special day of your life, which is exactly why we booked her!

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience working with DJ Mami Miami for our wedding and are soooo glad that we chose her as our DJ! From the beginning of the planning process she was communicative and friendly and really made us feel immediately comfortable. There are many great DJs we talked to but DJ Mami Miami immediately stood out as a kind, thoughtful, attentive person with obviously amazing skills and taste in music. We really wanted to find someone who we felt we vibed with on a personal level and were so happy when we did - she really made it feel special and tailored to us. DJ Mami Miami is incredibly organized and supplied us with all of the information that we needed to plan all of the audio for our wedding--from processional music, to announcements, to dancing--with so much going on as we tried to wrangle vendors and guest invitations it was such a relief to not have to worry about how to figure out when/how to play all the music! She gave us the opportunity to be as detailed or laid back in our planning of the music as we wanted - we love music so we loved being hands on, and she really provided the structure to make that process as easy and quick as possible. During the wedding itself, DJ Mami Miami executed everything flawlessly and did an incredible job of integrating our requested music with her own choices (she even spontaneously played a niche song during dancing specifically because something related was referenced during a very moving speech!! such a special moment), she seemed to always find the right next song to make sure everyone was out on the dance floor! We could not recommend working with DJ Mami Miami enough, she made the whole process seamless and absolutely nailed it on the music! Thank you!!!

Working with Emily was a treat! We hired her to DJ our employee winter social, and loved that she had a library with a wide variety of music to cover everyone's favorites. Emily responded to us very quickly, which I appreciated as we were on a tight timeline. She was able to schedule a quick call with us, and she asked really great questions about timing, any songs that might be inappropriate for the setting, and more about the attendees. She also went above and beyond to work with our talent (drag queens) to manage their audio, cue their songs, and keep the flow going. As an event planner, DJ Mami Miami was a dream to work with and I can't wait to hire her again!
