District Blue is the un-official party dance band of the Philadelphia and Tri-State area, devoted to serving up nostalgic hits from the ‘60s, to the present day. Comprised of highly-trained professional musicians, the band performs vibrant renditions of tunes by legendary artists such as Earth Wind & Fire, James Brown, Toto, Aretha Franklin, Santana, Stevie Wonder and Journey to inspire audiences across the Philly area to get up, dance and reminisce about their favorite musical memories at private events and festivals.
We booked District Blue to play at our new park grand opening. Without too much direction, they played the perfect upbeat covers to keep our crowd moving and shaking. District Blue was a pleasure to work with and the crowd enjoyed them very much. We would definitely use them again for a future event, and loved that they are a local Philadelphia band.
District Blue was fantastic! We booked them last minute and they quickly adapted to make our event possible. They were prompt, amiable, and quickly became a great part of our party. All the guests thoroughly enjoyed them and were encouraged to step out of their shells and dance. The music was upbeat, fun, and just throwback enough to make all the guests feel nostalgic and happy. Our entire neighborhood showed up to party with us after they heard the music! They interacted really well with the crowd and made the party much more special than it would otherwise have been. We will definitely hire them again if we need a band in the future.
Had a great time with District Blue at our corporate awards banquet. They were able to provide soft background music during dinner and then totally rocked the house during our dance. Great vocals and great sound.
Shawn was very easy to work with. Thanks District Blue!

District Blue consists of up to 12 of some of the most talented and skilled musicians in the Philadelphia area and guarantees a night of playing the right music at the right time, and at the right volume. Spotlighting female and male vocalists with a total of up to 5 who sing solo and tight harmonies, driven by a powerful rhythm section consisting of two guitars, bass, drums, percussion and two keyboardists, this band sounds great! Top it off by adding the dynamics of a killer horn section and you will be pleased at how fantastic the arrangements sound of the most popular top 40 songs as well as memorable sounds of our home town, Philadelphia and much more…
In 2012, bandleader, bassist Shawn Liles noticed the high demand in the Philadelphia area for skilled local DJs and local bands capable of playing fundraisers, private parties and other events as well as the profound musical talents of the men and women in the area. Joining forces with Carolyn Liles (Vocals), Miguel Cintron (Vocals) as well as Stan Brisbon (Keyboards), Nick DiRocco (Keyboards/Vocals), Chris Odom and Sam Mcilavin (Guitar), Maurice Hampton and Nelson Rios (Drums/Percussion), Liles built a multi-faceted super group that celebrates its members' diverse musical influences and allows them to further serve their community through song.
District Blue's high-energy arrangements of Top 40 tunes spotlight both male and female solos and tight-knit harmonies, reinforced by a powerful backing band employed with veteran multi-instrumentalists, many of who have been touring with major acts for years. District Blue is available for private and corporate parties, festivals and special events in the Philadelphia area and beyond.
