Overview

Hi I'm Diana! I am a singer/songwriter that plays original acoustic music as well as occasional covers. I play piano and ukulele primarily and my sound leans towards a folk-acoustic style, with light influences of jazz, musical theatre, and blues. My lyric driven tunes vary from humorous to heartfelt and my style is similar to artists such as Regina Spektor, Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, and Glen Hansard. I would be thrilled to perform for your event! Whether you're looking for some background ambient music for a gathering or someone to headline with fresh, original music, I would be a great fit. I look forward to sharing my music with you!

What to expect

Since my music is on the more mellow side, an audience can expect a really rich and comforting musical experience. My music works for events that require ambient background music, or events who require a headliner/opener that can make an audience listen deeply to my complex lyrics or laugh at my humorous tunes. Though acoustic/folksy in it's style, my work is tinged with theatrical elements and is easily adaptable to most situations.

About

Hi, I'm Diana DiCostanzo! I've been composing and performing my own music for over a decade. Having first started performing in theater as young child, I quickly knew that I wanted to be a full-time performer. My love of music grew from musical theatre to folk/pop/jazz/blues artists I discovered, to eventually my own music as I honed my voice as a singer/songwriter. I became self-taught on the piano and then the ukulele (and eventually learned to dabble in other instruments as well). I have been fortunate to live in cities such as Boston, San Francisco, and NYC, and have gigged and promoted myself as a musician and singer/songwriter in those cities.

Currently, I am located in NYC and work as a freelance singer/songwriter and actress.

Additional booking notes

I typically require multiple microphones (one for voice and one for an acoustic instrument). If my keyboard is being used, that requires a hookup to a speaker system (basic cord).

All other elements are pretty simple and lighting can be kept basic but interesting, or can be slightly more theatrical.
