The result is a fresh approach to jazz music that showcases an enjoyable mix of genres, including: Modern, Swing/Bebop, Latin, Funk, Blues, Brazillian, Afrobeat and even Reggae. The players are veteran musicians who collectively hold over 75+ years of jazz performance credentials. The band focuses on musicianship, engaging interplay and clever arrangements on popular jazz music. Devon Kurzweil Trio can have crowds hanging on every note, or blend into the background for a pleasurable listening experience.
The Devon Kurzweil Trio is available in several different formats:
a) Traditional guitar jazz trio
b) Authentic jazz organ trio
c) Modern funky jazz trio
All of the above iterations can be augmented with additional players per the client's wishes.
Devon Kurzweil has been crafting music professionally for over three decades. He brings a refined blend of thoughtful phrasing, hearty technical skills and immense creativity that give his productions and performances the highest integrity. His engaging live performances have covered a wide landscape--from the smallest, coziest bar venues to the largest festival stages in the country--in every arrangement from jazz duos and trios to large big bands and musical ensembles. Over the years he has performed and collaborated with some very notable players; musicians who have won Grammys; musicians who have toured the world and musicians that have been on a myriad of authentic productions from a "who’s who" of famous artists.
Kurzweil is an extremely talented guitarist that commands many styles of music. His playing style is reminiscent of George Benson, Pat Martino, Mike Stern and John Scofield. As always, he is joined by veteran players whether on bass, drums, organ, piano or horns. With the over abundance of watercolor jazz that has seemed to infiltrate today’s music scene, Kurzweil adds both freshness and intensity to today’s musical landscape. He is the utmost professional and always delivers a performance of the highest quality.
We have the required back line for the group, including a small p.a. system for the band, vocals and/or miscellaneous p.a. announcements. We do not provide lighting. We will need access to power within 25ft.
