Overview

When the unexpected hits, most people panic.

Pilots can’t.

In this engaging keynote, pilot and bestselling author Dennis Bauer shares the true story of flying a six-passenger airplane when the engine suddenly quit at 5,000 feet.

Through humor, storytelling, and powerful audience interaction, Dennis teaches the three decisions every pilot makes in a crisis — and how leaders can apply them immediately.

The takeaways:
1. Aviate - Focus on basics first
2. Navigate - Chart a clear course forward
3. Communicate - Get the right feedback

It's entertainment with a point! Or three.

Conference Keynote Speaker

Dennis spoke at our (SHRM-Olympia) annual HR conference yesterday. He was engaging, energetic, and a joy to listen to and learn from! His stories and links to real-life situations engaged our audience consistently! His insights regarding how to handle unexpected situations utilizing the key phrases, AVIATE, NAVIGATE, and COMMUNICATE were easily understood and relatable. I truly look forward to working with him again! Thanks for making our conference a great success!

Phenominal

Dennis did an outstanding job speaking at our event. I heard many people talking about it afterwards and everyone was very pleased. I heard people saying "YOU are amazing" to others all throughout our event due to Dennis's session. I would like to have him back for another event when the timing is right.

Thank you, Joyce, for the wonderful review! Much appreciated!

I had a blast with you and your TOPS crowd ... a very enthusiastic and engaged audience. And thank you for helping at the book signing table. People were lining up before I could even get there!

I'm glad I was able to contribute to the overall impact of the event.

Dennis Bauer is a Riveting Speaker

"Dennis Bauer is a 'by God spellbinder'-- but not in the way that the rascally Harold Hill was in The Music Man. He's the full-meal deal. From Bauer's first sentence, he had everyone enthralled. His 'Aviate, Navigate, Communicate' message works wonders in every realm--not just miles high over Colorado with "EMPTY" splashed across the gas gauge! I've been following Dennis's lead for a couple weeks now and business is picking up; my "gas gauge" is no longer running on empty. You will be delighted, transfixed, and transformed. Don't miss your chance to learn from one of the best speakers and life/business coaches I've ever had the pleasure to hear."

What to expect

Dennis Bauer delivers a high-energy keynote built around a true story from his aviation background.

While flying a six-passenger, single-engine airplane from Tacoma to Denver, the engine suddenly quit at 5,000 feet over northern Colorado. In that moment, Dennis relied on the three words every pilot is trained to remember when facing the unexpected:

Aviate. Navigate. Communicate.

Through humor, storytelling, and powerful audience connection, Dennis shows how these same three principles apply to leadership, business, and life when things don't go according to plan.

Audiences leave with a simple framework they can immediately apply:

• Aviate – Focus on the fundamentals and regain control
• Navigate – Know where you are and chart the best course forward
• Communicate – Seek clear feedback from the right people

Participants laugh, engage with the story, and walk away inspired with practical tools they will remember long after the event.
