Bronx born Puerto Rican Delilah Martinez brings spoken word from the streets to the stage as she commits to telling urban stories of old school hip hop, Nuyorican culture and Boogie down flavor. Delilah has performed at NYU'where she presented work from her anthology Boogiericaniam. She has taught the art of spoken word poetry at mentoring programs and in her work as a school counselor. Recently, she has performed to the break dance routines of b-girl, Ana Rokafella Garcia and her crew Full Circle Productions at BAAD and Wave Hill. She is working on completing and releasing a novel Spic and Span and a screenplay Third Story. Be inspired and experience her endless supply of verbal herstory.

September 25, 2015We hired Delilah for our club's annual kick-off event, Slam Poetry Jam, at Adelphi University. Delilah was very professional and had a lot of enthusiasm during our event. She captivated the audience with her poetry and emotion she portrayed throughout her performance. Our event was designed with the goal to educate about Hispanic Heritage month, and Delilah was the perfect performer for the job.
