Welcome to DD Jazz Bands, where your favorite songs from the Great American Songbook are still played with energy and passion! Based out of Boston, we are your go-to choice for elevating weddings, corporate events, and a variety of special occasions with a dynamic and memorable performance.

DD Jazz is led by Dan Denette, a distinguished multi-instrumentalist originally from Albany, New York. At 30 years old, and with 15 years of professional gigging, Dan brings a rare mix of experience and youthful energy. Prior to forming DD Big Band, he spent a decade playing saxophone, and later singing with the renowned Joey Thomas Big Band, where he honed his craft and developed a deep love for American Popular music.​ He has been fortunate to appear with such acts as Brother Joesephus' Love Revival Band, Schenectady Light Opera Company, and the Daley News, as well as at such venues as Proctor's Theatre and the Albany Riverfront Jazz Festival. Dan’s also experienced as a solo performer, having had a monthly residence playing guitar and singing at Spindles Wine Bar in Cohoes, New York
Our other members consist of seasoned Boston professionals, including Danny Whalen on piano, and Rukan Khondker as a female vocalist. From the classic charm of Big Band and Jazz to the energetic grooves of Rock and the latest hits in Modern Pop, we provide a broad repertoire to match any event's ambiance. We are passionate about delivering a performance that exceeds your expectations and are happy to take requests to ensure that every note resonates with you and your guests.

For larger gatherings, our full 18 piece Big Band setup creates an unforgettable atmosphere with its rich, full sound. For more intimate events, consider our smaller DD Little Band, which captures the same great songs and musical spirit in a more compact arrangement, or even consider the DD Duo or consider Dan’s solo piano, guitar, or vocals for your cocktail hour or small intimate events.
