Abstract Contour Drawing Class for Work Teams Join us for a perfect art activity and icebreaker designed for work teams. This engaging 60-minute class is a fantastic way for teams to bond, relax, and let loose, with participants encouraged to bring their favorite beverages. We'll start with a brief welcome and introduction before moving into warm-up activities like shading and cross-hatching to prepare our hand-eye coordination.
Then, you'll learn abstract contour drawing techniques with the fun twist of not being allowed to look at your paper. The session continues with a 10-minute drawing exercise where you can choose any household object to sketch, such as plants, shoes, or cups, followed by sharing and discussing our drawings.

Next, we'll move onto drawing self-portraits while looking in the camera without peeking at the paper. For added fun, whenever someone looks at their paper, we all take a drink! We'll wrap up by sharing our portraits and reflecting on the experience, highlighting the joy and creativity that come from creating tangible pieces of artwork together. Most guests have said they felt closer to their peers and coworkers by the end of the session. I am a professional artist with over 16 years of experience in drawing, painting, and teaching to all ages and levels. I work in my art studio full time and create abstract paintings inspired by nature, landscape, and light in Florida. St. Pete is my permanent home and I absolutely love living here. Prior to living in St. Pete, I lived in St. John, US Virgin Islands where I created, hosted, and led paint and sip events with locals and visitors coming to the island. I have two degrees in painting and am highly knowledgeable about art and art history. You will truly feel as if you are getting a real art lesson without the seriousness of being in a classroom.

-Drawing tools: pencil (not mechanical) and black Sharpie or dark colored marker
-6-7 pieces of blank paper, at least 8"x10"
-Beverage(s) of your choice (does not have to be alcoholic)
-Objects that you want to draw: Examples are a cup or mug, and a plant or a shoe.
