Overview

Donna Lewis is a stand-up comedian, sketch and improv performer based out of Hampton, Virginia. She's opened for comedy legend Marsha Warfield, Maria Bamford and Michael Ian Black! She's performed nationally in LA, Boston, Atlanta and NYC at well-known comedy clubs. She’s been seen at national comedy festivals such as Big Pine, North Carolina Comedy Festival and the World Series of Comedy. She also performs improv and sketch comedy with the group she founded from the Push Comedy Theatre of Norfolk, VA. She performs standup at various clubs locally and regionally such as the Funnybone, Cozzy's Comedy Club, Comedy Zone and for corporate and private events.

About

Donna Lewis is a stand-up comedian, sketch and improv performer based out of Hampton, Virginia. She's opened for comedy legend Marsha Warfield, Maria Bamford and Michael Ian Black and has performed at well-known clubs in LA, Atlanta, San Diego, New Orleans, Boston and NYC. She’s been seen at national comedy festivals such as Big Pine, North Carolina and the Black Women in Comedy, TV commercials and performs sketch and improv comedy with groups from the Push Comedy Theatre of Norfolk, VA. In 2018 she founded an all-POC improv and sketch group Lemon Pepper & Sazón Comedy (LP&S). LP&S has performed at the Charm City Comedy Festival (Baltimore), the North Carolina Comedy Festival, Philly Sketchfest, the Newark (NJ) Improv Festival and the Magnet Theater in New York City. In 2019, she was awarded a Diversity Fellowship to study improv comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City completing all class levels. She’s also taken improv training in Musical Improv and Genre Improv at the Squirrel Theater in New York City. Additionally, she leads diversity efforts at the Push Comedy Theater by creating a Diversity Council, Diversity Scholarship and produces a monthly Diversity Improv Jam show. She also has served on the board of two comedy festivals: Black Girl Giggles Comedy Festival (New Orleans) and the Comics Rising Virtual Festival (Boston). She’s also taught improv workshops at the Memphis Urban Laughs Festival in Memphis, TN.

When not telling jokes, Donna has worked for the last 23 years at NASA as a Configuration and Data Manager on flight projects. NASA once wrote an article about both her comedy and space exploits: Data by Day, Stand-Up by Night | NASA.
