Overview

Our cave brains are not designed for 24/7 multi-tasking. As a result, we rely more and more on faulty decision-making hacks and shortcuts to simply survive the workday.
We'll cover identifying & overcoming five destructive workplace cognitive biases:
1. Confirmation Bias (I know what I know)
2. Groupthink (Herd Mentality)
3. Availability Bias (If it bleeds, it leads)
4. Actor-Observer Bias (But I'm different)
5. Worldview Bias (In the bubble)

What to expect

We'll cover the five most destructive cognitive biases that routinely impact work culture. Once we identify and name the bias we can improve our decision making skills.

Example:
1. Co-worker shows up late for a meeting due to unexpected traffic delays. We conclude our co-worker is inconsiderate and didn't plan ahead.
2. The following week we show up late due to unexpected traffic delays. But this time we create valid, reasonable explanations to excuse our failure. This is called the "Actor-Observer Bias."
