Classroom Management

The audience can expect to leave with research-based strategies that are practical and useful when working with diverse students at schools. They will feel inspired and encouraged to improve their skills in classroom management and building rapport with students.

Dr. Catrina Cooper is a dean of students at an intermediate school in Central Indiana. She has been an educator for 26 years with 24 years as a classroom teacher. Her passion for seeing teachers, both new and veteran, be successful at educating students is visible and recognized by many in her community. She has provided support to teachers at all levels. In 2007 she published a book entitled ¨Taking Control¨ Developing Effective Classroom Management Strategies. She earned a doctorate in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in 2021 which has opened the door for more opportunities to help teachers be successful. Her ultimate desire is to support teachers and administrators in understanding the importance of cultural responsiveness when managing student behaviors.
