Booking information

Price range: $150/hr (per performer) - 2 hour minimum

Languages: English

Gig length: 60 - 180 minutes

What to expect

For most events, the first set will be comprised of smooth jazz standards or instrumental renditions of popular cover tunes. As the event progresses or, at the request of the host/event planner, more vocal and upbeat songs are added. Please allow at least 2 - 3 weeks prior to the event for any special musical requests.

When a musical group (2+) is requested, be prepared to see a perforemance that immediately engages the audience. The goal is to have the musical entertainment be one of the many memorable aspects of your special event.

FOR THE HOST / EVENT PLANNER: Please note that you are not solely paying for "performance" time, but fee covers the "idle" time of the musicians over the course of the event (start to finish). For example, if the band has to be "setup and in place" or "out of sight" until start of the event, that's "idle" time. If there are breaks in the event program or agenda where the musicians aren't performing, that's "idle" time. If the musicians can't immediately leave after their performance without disrupting the event, that is additional "idle" time.

If the event is more than an hour (60 miles) outside of the San Antonio metro area, there may be additional transportation and lodging costs.

For any event with an estimated fee over $600, a contract with a 20% deposit is required to lock in the date.

About

FROM CHICAGO TO DETROIT (MOTOWN) TO TEXAS
Chris has deep musical roots and influences stemming from the Midwest. Born in Chicago, Illinois and later raised in Detroit, Michigan during the Motown heyday. Between his dad and his uncle, there was always a guitar in the house and that's where he found his passion. He took a departure from music during high school, but his interest rekindled after joining the U.S. Air Force and getting stationed in San Antonio, Texas.

USAF YEARS & TOPS IN BLUE
During his Air Force career, Chris played in several R&B and Jazz bands and developed lifelong friends and music mentors while stationed in Korea, Germany and San Antonio. During his tour in Germany, one of his most notable moments was being selected as guitarist for the Air Force "Tops in Blue" entertainment showcase. The experience was a six-month, overseas tour spanning 23 countries across Europe, the Pacific, Panama, Honduras, Iceland & Greenland.

SAN ANTONIO SCENE
After completing the Tops-in-Blue tour, Chris was re-assigned back to San Antonio and formed his own Jazz/R&B band called "Groove Factor". The group disbanded a few years later after his band mates (all military members) got reassigned to other AF installations.

Chris channels his musical talent as a freelance guitarist and occasional musical director for music festivals, concerts and recording projects. He is regularly hired to back nationally known smooth Jazz artists performing around San Antonio and South Texas. He also performs with other well-known San Antonio bands, and local theater groups.

Chris has released three singles, available on iTunes and working on a self-titled, full-length CD project.
