About

CHAMELƎON's primary influences are Mudvayne, 311, and Incubus, with nods to more progressive genres.  The band's sound tends to shape-shift (hence the name), often jumping the line between hard-rock and heavier genres.  CHAMELƎON follows an offshot of 2000s nu-metal, and aspires to be a logical next step for the genre, casting off aspects that didn't age well while incorporating a progressive polish.  They somtimes refer to themselves as "Post Nu Metal."

CHAMELƎON started as the brainchild of Lorenzo Vidali (guitar) in 2018.  After moving to Colorado, Lorenzo joined forces with Alex Murrell (drums) and Bryan Raynor (bass).  The first 2 years involved heavy writing and searching for a vocalist.  After many auditions worthy of airing on "I Think You Should Leave," Lorenzo switched gears to fill the role as lead singer.  The group later added David Klapholz as their primary guitar player.

To date, the band has released a debut album "The Mandala Effect," on October 15, 2021, which received positive reviews amongst listeners and bloggers alike.  CHAMELƎON is set to release its follow-up EP this year.

Additional booking notes

CHAMELƎON runs out of a rack system.  We do not require individual monitor mixes, but they are preferred for backup purposes.  The rack system contains an XLR patch bay with with 8 outputs labeled as follows:

1. Guitar 1
2. Guitar 2
3. Bass
4. Backing Tracks L
5. Backing Tracks R
6. Lead Vocal

These mixes will go straight to FOH.

Since all guitar and vocals are already processed with effects on our system prior to feeding FOH, we request you keep all channels (apart from your standard processing on drums) mostly dry, except for any compensatory EQ to better fit the acoustics of the venue.

CHAMELƎON will require a stereo feed (2x mono XLR) of the drum mix to patch into our IEM system.

For smaller Venus with a PA, CHAMEL3ON can provide it's own stereo mix out to the PA system.
