Butterfly

Hi, I'm Butterfly. A singer-songwriter blending soulful vocals with catchy melodies. Growing up, I was influenced by Sade, Erykah Badu, Mickey Howard, and Shaka Khan, and my own parents. My father spent years as a singer and a song writer traveling as a young man, while my mother once earned a scholarship to for Opera singing. The influence of music in my house was heavy but my family always encouraged me to explore my artistic capabilities. I began writing my own songs at 9 afraid of not having the approval of my sibling or my parents because it seemed they had high expectations. My music is a mix of Neo-Soul, Gospel and occasionally Blues. A sound that's both different and original.
