Perfect DJ

Charlie is what you need on your wedding day!!

I knew I wanted to book Charlie as my DJ when I saw how talented he was and that he offered live music!!! Live music plus DJ plus MC? I have NOT seen any other competitors offer all that and for an affordable price. Charlie is so so easy to work with. He requires minimal instruction and is on top of his game. He played guitar for our ceremony and sang some requested songs for the cocktail our then he killed it in the dance floor. All my guests loved interacting with him and requesting songs. He MCed amazingly! Pronounced my parent’s name correctly. He set up and took down all equipment necessary and I didn’t even notice the transitions. He is such a pleasure to work with and you can just tell he is a kind soul. I got lucky with ALL my vendors, including Charlie John!!!

Doctoral graduation party

Charlie John was fantastic! He played live music for 2 hours and DJed for 2 hours, and the mix was great. This was for an outdoor graduation party with a mix of adults and kids. His voice is amazing, and the mix of music was spot on. He had a list of live music to select from, but anything would have been great. I didn’t give him much direction or requests, and he ran with it and made it very enjoyable and easy. He was on time, set everything up and made sure the volume was perfect for a casual gathering, and did a wonderful job. Many people asked for his card and where we found him. We can’t wait to have him back for a smaller gathering so I can really sit and enjoy the music and his performance! Thanks again, Charlie John!

About

Born into a family of musicians, singers and songwriters, Charlie's unquenchable passion for great music and melodies seemed only natural. He grew up listening to Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, and The Doobie Brothers among others, so it’s no surprise that by the age of 6 he was singing and performing with his siblings for family and friends. It wasn't until high school though that he really got the bug, and flourished. At 18 he picked up the guitar and hasn't looked back, playing solo gigs while working and attending school.

Recent artist influences such as Gavin DeGraw, Ed Sheeran, Andy Grammar and Eminem inspired Charlie to concentrate on songwriting, and ultimately his first EP. His father, Bill, a producer, writer and musician who reached the billboard charts in the 80’s, produced Charlie’s 4 song self-titled debut. The sounds of the EP are a punchy combination of 2016 Pop and Soul, Hip Hop, Gospel, EDM, and Classic Singer/Songwriter.

In 2013, 2014 and 2016 Charlie was contacted by the producers of the TV show “The Voice” and invited to audition in Chicago, Dallas and Nashville. He also recently won “Best Original Pop Song” and “Best Original Singer/Songwriter Song” in the 2016 Ohio Music Awards AND the overall Grand Prize in the Songdoor 2016 International Songwriting Competition with his original song “Change Me”.

Charlie continues to grow as a performer, and now incorporates “looping” into his live shows. By looping he can accompany himself not only with acoustic guitar, he can also create a drum track, bass and other instruments, giving him a full band sound.
