Bre Short

Bre Short is a composer, songwriter, and performer based in Pittsburgh, PA. Her music blends haunting melodies with emotionally rich storytelling, inviting listeners into a world where the mythic meets the intimate. With roots in dance and theater, her work is shaped by a deep connection to movement, narrative, and atmosphere.

Her debut EP, The Runner (2024), offers a glimpse into her evocative musical world. In both her recordings and live performances, Bre creates immersive sonic landscapes that resonate with vulnerability, imagination, and power.

Bre has spent over a decade collaborating with dance and theater companies in New York City and Pittsburgh, including Third Rail Projects, Punchdrunk NYC, The Pillow Project, Nadine Bommer Dance Theatre, and The People Movers. She performed in Third Rail’s Bessie Award-winning Then She Fell and in the long-running immersive show Sleep No More by Punchdrunk.

Bre holds a B.A. in Dance Performance from Point Park University and studied at The Boston Conservatory. She continues to create work that bridges sound, movement, and storytelling.
