I have spent many years trying to define who I am as a person. I have often been able to show who I am, but I have never been able to put into writing who I am. However, when I sat down and tried to come up with a concrete way of describing myself and being able to put it into writing, I came to realize what personal mission statement is. I realized that my mission in life is to preach the Gospel, seek social justice and civil rights for all people. All while being led by God and leading with honesty and integrity.
I can say that I have been very fortunate to begin fulfill my mission and cause in life even with only being 20 years old. I had a vision that teens in my hometown community had the opportunity and education needed to create programs and groups that they wanted to participate in available to them in the community, so I founded a non-profit and called it Teen Action Program.
As President and Founder of Teen Action Program, a nonprofit with a Christian faith background that motivates, educates, and equips students of all socio-economic backgrounds to be agents of change in the Lauderdale County area. I created Teen Action Program because I had my own ideas of change that I want to make happen in the community but no way of making those ideas possible, so I wanted to give others the opportunity of forging a new atmosphere in the community by providing the resources that I did not have.
I have know ever since I was a little kid at the age of 5 years old that I was called to become a pastor. However, for many years – up until my sophomore year of high school – I had my mind set on a career in law enforcement. I can’t recall what exactly happened, but I know that the Lord did something in me to put my full focus back on becoming a full-time pastor which later allowed me to be accepted into Evangel University to study Church Leadership.
As a Church Leadership major at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, it is my calling and desire to become a pastor. As time goes on, I am learning more and more that I’m the happiest when I am doing ministry; nothing else brings me the most joy. While I would like to start a couple of church plants, I believe that God is calling and preparing my heart for the revitalization of churches that are on the verge of death.
In between the great opportunities that I have been afforded to have, are the setbacks and hurdles that I have been able to overcome. These setbacks have been pivotal in my personal development. A pornography addiction that showed me that addiction isn’t broken until you talk about it. A spiritual drought that gave light to the fact that your calling doesn’t protect you from something that you never thought would happen to you.
Aside from preaching the Gospel and telling of my testimony of finally being set free from the bondage of pornography and receiving a full, fresh refilling of the Spirit after going through a spiritual drought back in 2017, as a speaker I bring a message of empowerment. I bring a message of how change is not a far-fetched concept and is something that everyone can achieve. Despite having Essential Tremors and always sounding nervous because of it, I speak power over setbacks. I believe the best way to motivate someone is speak about what I have experienced, and that is exactly what I do.
Additional Booking Notes
I sometimes use audio/visual enhancements. I prefer a lapel microphone, but a wireless handheld is my second preference (I prefer these two types because I tend to move and use my hands while speaking).
