Real deal blues. Music from the heart and soul. Bluestar Band has complete Public Address system, instrumentation, microphones, amplifiers and personnel to play host to your party, or other event. Bluestar plays music from Muddy Waters, The Crusaders, Cannonball Adderley, Herbie Hancock, Buddy Guy, Howlin' Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band and more.
Bluestar will complete set up and present a one, two or three hour show that will rock your socks off.

Carolyn Davis tickles the ivories and adds her sultry vocals to Bluestar Band. She's classically trained, and once opened for Dickie Betts!

Beth the Velvet Hammer began playing accordion when she was five. In fact, she played her accordion at a fund raiser for President John F. Kennedy as a youngster, and got to meet him at the time. Beth worked in broadcasting, radio then television, and has the distinction of having interviewed 4 U.S. presidents. Bass and blues are what she loves now. She played bass with the late Johnny Guitar for years, who she met while playing with the late blues icon James Peterson. Beth also does a blues radio show on WSLR Community Radio, produces music videos, designs websites, publishes CD's for musicians and writes music.

Yes, we have a drummer! Joe Licinski started banging on everything at a very young age, and he sometimes lifts his voice in song.

Yes we have a saxophone player, Michael Pawlus has played everything from jazz to blues while growing up in Chicago. He also plays keyboards. The 20 year Sarasota resident and periodontist played in Chicago's Moonlight jazz orchestra, and while in Gainesville was part of the house band at Lillians. His Sarasota credits range from The Alternators, to the Kara Nally Band, Cahoots, and the Flying V Jazz Quartet.

Bluestar is often accompanied by guitarists and singers Al Fuller, Howlin' Bob, Scott Howard, John Putnam or Bob Dielman!
