October 28, 2025Wonderful! Blue Ridge Gathering exceeded our expectations!
We hired Blue Ridge Gathering as a a stringband for our wedding to play for our first dance, an Appalachian circle dance, a group waltz workshop, and cocktail hour.
Blue Ridge Gathering exceeded our expectations! Not only are they a fabulous stringband, but they have a quirky style and a great unique sound.
Multiple of their members have really wonderful singing voices full of personality as well!
Our guests all mentioned LOVING the music and everyone has so much fun dancing with them!
They learned two songs we requested - each of them turned out sounding great and true to the original but much better than a basic cover! I was especially delighted with our first dance song - Duck has fun personality that comes through when they sing and play, making dancing along even more enjoyable!
During planning, the band communicated really clearly & quickly through gigsalad/email and the contract we signed with them was also clear.

September 10, 2025Perfect music for my daughter's wedding
The group played exactly the kind of music I wanted to reflect the celebratory mood of my daughter's wedding. They were professional, polished and so nice and easy to deal with. They really went to town when they accompanied the caller, Stan for some lively square dancing to finish up the evening. Guests at the wedding said it was one of the most fun weddings they ever attended, thanks in large part to the music these musicians provided.
