Blaze & Shine

Audiences can expect a high-energy, engaging show featuring Blaze and Shine’s original songs. Marina’s powerful vocals combined with live keyboards, DJ elements, and a dancer when requested. We offer a seamless thirty to forty minute set where songs flow naturally into one another. Think modern electro swing vibes, great for festivals, corporate events, private parties, and lounges looking for something fresh, unique, and danceable.

Blaze and Shine was born from an unexpected audition. Marina and Edgar first met when a self-proclaimed ‘professional musician’ invited them to join a band. We were reminded more than once what an honor it was to work with such ‘accomplished’ professionals. A week or two into rehearsals, reality took an interesting turn. Marina was told she wasn’t a good enough singer, and Edgar was informed he wasn’t a good enough keyboard player or even backing vocalist. Apparently, neither of us had much of a musical future. So we looked at each other and thought, ‘Well, if we’re both such terrible musicians, maybe we should start a band together.’ And we did. That ‘terrible idea’ became Blaze and Shine, an original Canadian duo blending jazz, swing, and modern dance energy. Today, we create original music that brings together Marina’s expressive vocals and Edgar’s musicianship and production, perfect for festivals, corporate events, private parties, and upscale venues. We’re still waiting for that ‘professional musician’ to check in and see how we’re doing. But judging by the audiences we play for, we think we’re doing just fine.

Based on what we already have, which includes AKAI MPK225 , PIONEER DJ SET, two Shure Beta 58A microphones with stands, and occasional Yorkville monitor speakers, our requirements revolve around sound reinforcement, specifically speakers and a mixer. Contact for further information.
