What to expect
Joe DeSiro is a professional guitar picker and has worked on the professional circuit for generations. Pasty Dunbar has been singing and playing guitar since puberty. Together they work to provide a unique and upbeat performance for any venue. They will work to provide any special music that may be requested as well as put their own repertoire of music on the performance list. With an understanding of the differing tastes they offer a variety of musical styles from the big band era til today. One of the specialties offered is the sound of Johnny Cash songs done with a female lead, or how about a little Beatles with a feminine twist? Joe can pick Chet Akins for a toe tapping time. The group aims to please the audience and provide quality entertainment.
About
Amici is composed of two people. The first is Joe DeSiro, a very talented guitarist/musician that has been playing for generations. At one time Joe was thrilled to play for Chet Atkins. One thing that Joe remembers clearly is when Mr. Atkins told him, "Don't be afraid to make mistakes. We all do. I still make mistakes." Even so Joe strives for the best possible sound he can obtain. He is an amazing finger stylist that is able to learn a song in a short amount of time. His most recent endeavor was being accepted to audition for "America's Got Talent." We are all very excited that Joe was given this opportunity and look forward to, hopefully, seeing him on television! Joe is also the number one guitar picker on Reverb Nation! You can hear some of Joe's work on his Reverb Nation account.
Pasty (pronounced Pa (like you call your dad) stee (long e sound)) Dunbar is a wife, mother, and teacher. She has sang since childhood and started writing music and playing guitar at the age of nine. She worked with a group in North Carolina singing gospel songs and was even on a local television show. Asked to record in Nashville, Pasty turned down the opportunity at the time. Though it was a very difficult decision she thought that raising a family was more important and that in trying to dedicate time to a career in music and raising a family one might get short changed. But that didn't keep her from singing. In Joplin Missouri she would sing on stage at a weekly Jamboree show. In Tulsa Oklahoma Pasty was a cantor for her church, sang for a dinner theater, and occasionally sang at a local Italian restaurant during dinner time. Though not in the limelight her love for music stayed with her. Since her children are now older she is free to do more singing. She writes little songs for fun and sometimes posts them on her youtube channel.
