Amanda Karen, Standup Comedian

Amanda Karen is a proud New Yorker in origin, attitude, and love of delis; though she was too hippy for the East Coast, she is not quite woke enough for the West, where she resides in the Bay. Rapidly approaching the end of her procreatability window, she specializes in sharing how her parents feel about that, further dissecting societal and sexual norms, postulating on mental health stigma, and generally poking fun at her insular shtetl Jewish background — including on the podcast she cohosts, The Kvetching Hour.

Musician-turned-Comic-because-Masochist, she was recently featured in the Mutiny Radio San Francisco Comedy Festival, on stage at the famed Flappers Comedy Club in Los Angeles & at Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Club in NorCal, and headlined the Israeli national tour of Annie as the drunk, lonely, horny antagonist Miss Hannigan, which was essentially autobiographical. Other performance credits include extensive theatre, international jazz scat performance (not that kind of scat...yet?), a cappella — aka the vocalists everyone loves to hate, and frontwomaning a Brooklyn pop punk band.
