October 13, 2024A Nightmare
Working with this guy, Brett, is a nightmare. He deceived us into thinking he had a 3-way catering license. He waited roughly a month before admitting there was any kind of issue securing it and only after I asked him about it! I think he probably would have waited to spring it on us the week of the event had I not asked. It seemed like he was trying to keep it a secret while he attempted to iron it out. Guy is incredibly unprofessional. Took him forever to respond to texts or keep me updated on the status of things during this process. At one point he insinuated that the lack of liquor was for the best so our guests don’t over indulge! Buddy who are you to tell us what’s “best” for our guests?! Claimed he would provide bottled water as a “courtesy” and then didn’t bring any! Also claimed he would provide ice and cups in the initial quote and then charged us for them. His staff is lovely, but this guy stinks. I’m baffled by the reviews on here. Do NOT use this service. It was a constant source of stress and disappointment.

This review could have easily gone a different way. Alcomy bartended my wedding. An hour before the ceremony, Brett called and said his bartender had ghosted them and quit a half an hour after she was supposed to be at the event. Brett was extremely apologetic and promised to find someone as soon as possible. Fortunately at the end of the ceremony, Geno showed up. He was very attentive and professional. He took photos and a video of my dad's father of the bride speech. He also made amazing cocktails and was great about checking in on my husband and I throughout the evening. Brett then arrived to check on everything after an event he had to work himself, which was very appreciated! Alcomy had to deal with a situation any business sometimes has to deal with (an employee no showing or quitting) and took care of it with very little stress on my end.

Alcomy does not just make and serve cocktails. We don't just pour beer or wine. We do our best to curate an experience. From event conception to completion, we pledge to be the most knowledgeable, pro-active, and accessible professionals in the industry. Whether it's a trustworthy referral list of other professionals such as caterers and entertainment to help you plan your event, or how to help you plan your alcohol budget, we are dedicated to making your event as seamless and memorable as possible. We know it can be stressful and we go above and beyond to help you plan so you don't have to stress. Most of all, we make the process fun! Which is the whole point of throwing a party isn't it?
About
A Purdue graduate, Brett has studied and worked in New York City and Los Angeles as a writer, actor and mixologist. After 10 years in L.A., and a brief apprenticeship with famed “cocktail chef” and “Eat Your Drink” author Matthew Biancaniello, he recently moved back home to Indy to start his mobile mixology business Alcomy. Each event combines the science of liquid gastronomy with the creative expression of art to celebrate and elevate the human experience.
