Alamance Jazz Collective
Overview
A group of passionate young musicians offering live music in various forms, including shows, background music, concerts, and more. Our musicians are all pursuing or have already earned a bachelor's in music and have years of gigging experience, sharing their art with nearly any kind of venue. Playing in styles ranging from swing to blues, Latin, modern, gospel, and funk, we strive for professionalism, utmost quality, and music that swings. 🎵
The ensembles seen in our photos/videos are not necessarily exclusive. Our instrumentation can be adjusted to fit the context of an event (quintet/quartet/trio/duo, with drums/drumless, horns/guitar etc).

June 29, 2026Fantastic group
We had an evening gathering on a hotel roof top for 100 people. The Alamance Jazz Collective performed (keyboards, bass, drums, and sax). They were a perfect fit for our event -- classic jazz with a nice mix of tempo and energy. And the performers clearly enjoyed performing together. It is great to see (and hear) their chemistry. Also, a pleasure to work with setting up the event. Very professional.

June 3, 202640th birthday party
These guys are absolutely legends. Perfect feature for my party at an upscale venue. Very professional, played old-school jazz (my favorite) and absolutely completed the vibe for the evening. It wouldn't have been the same without them. Do not hesitate if you're considering them, complete professionals at the highest level. 10/10

March 1, 2026Only A Pleasure.....
I procured Alamance Jazz Collective for a special charity event. I challenged the band to my own particular set of songs (classic jazz with some gospel). I was particularly impressed long before the event with their enthusiasm and flexibility because not only did I want certain songs I also specified the arrangements and instruments. It can't get more challenging than a gig with these requirements. Thomas de Moraes, who is the band lead, spoke with me as often as necessary to understand my requirements but he also more than compensated with appropriate musical translation because I am musically illiterate. So he completely understood the music and the mood I intended for the event. He passed along the details to his equally and professionally proficient team and the result far exceeded expectations. I was moved by the band's dedication to play the music correct to my specifications and the audience of over 150 guest was mesmerized by the entire performance. First this band can play anything. Secondly, their professionalism is beyond impressive in our time and culture where customer service is becoming extinct. I received no "pushback" on any of my requirements and it was obvious that they enjoyed displaying their hyper-talent with ease. The only thing I emphasized to the band was to have fun performing and their enthusiasm was contagious throughout the audience. Most comments I received from the audience ranged in the zone of "...who are these guys and why hadn't I heard of them..." My comment remains if they stick together with these ingredients I described, you will hear of them whether as a band or individually as celebrity artist because they are well deserving. The audience was very pleased excited and moved by their performance making the event an overwhelming success. My recommendation, "Book now and Book quick". I look forward to our next collaboration.

What to expect
Fundamentally, the style of our music is jazz, meaning that you can expect a sound influenced by its various subgenres like bebop, hard-bop, swing, blues, Latin, ballads, and modal jazz, though we certainly dabble in the realm of funk and gospel as well. Many of our songs originate from the Great American Songbook and compositions by the Jazz Greats of the 20th century, but also more recent selections and originals.
To get a better idea of our sound, check out the videos at the top of this page (the first four are live performances in gig environments, and the fifth is a studio recording session featuring high-definition audio).

Additional booking notes
The most important thing is for us to have electricity outlets near the performance area. We bring all other necessary equipment ourselves, including amplifiers/speakers, instruments, music stands, vocalist microphones, and necessary cables.
We also usually ask that drinking water be available for each musician (glasses, bottles, nearby water fountains, etc, are all fine!)
Musicians who require more setup (keyboardists, drummers, and guitarists) will arrive an hour before the beginning of the set. Those with less setup (horn players and bassists) do not require as much time and can be expected to arrive as late as 30 minutes before the beginning of the set. If needed, the band/individuals may be asked to arrive earlier or later to fit the needs of the event.
