Overview

Accidental Red is a five-member musical group featuring female vocals, piano, upright bass, drums, sax, flute, and accordion. The band name was coined minutes before our first open mic appearance over 11 years ago when our original brunette vocalist warned us she was arriving with unintentional red hair à la Jessica Rabbit. We perform covers of songs from the 20's to today, all with a light jazz feel. Setlists are custom designed, whether it be Roaring Twenties, 40's Swing, 60's Pop, or a mix of many styles and genres. Recent venues include The Watergate Hotel, Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden, Workhouse Arts Center, Lake Anne Jazz Festival, and Cascades Overlook Town Center.

The band did a great job at our party

Accidental Red played for more than two hours at our anniversary party. They have a large repertoire, but they also learned and played several special songs (mostly from the 1960s) that we requested. Very good musicians and wonderful people to work with. The party was a great success.

A hit 2 years in a row for us!

Ron and the rest of Accidental Red were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We have now brought them to play at our event during cocktail hour 2 years in a row, and they are fastastic! The are easy to communicate with, reliable, friendly, and so talented that our attendees commented on it each year.

Great performance that got the residents dancing

We thoroughly enjoyed the performances of the Accidental Red band members. The music was appropriate for our mixed age group and they had the residents dancing by the end of the night. The Band had a very professional look to them as well. They were great!

They truly took our event to the next level!

We have been hosting an annual speakeasy-themed fundraising event for our museum for seven years now. Accidental Red was by far the best band we’ve ever booked! Our attendees raved about them, they made for an incredible night, and we can’t wait to have them back.

REVIEWS (for gigs not originated from GigSalad):

Accidental Red came highly recommended by a restaurant that is also well known for the different music genres they offer so I trusted their judgement. Right at my first encounter, the band immediately knew what was needed for this type of event. The music despite it being a background one, was soft, yet engaging. At times, the rhythmic intensity was exciting but never overwhelming, and the different compositions were very effective as it provided a smooth transition between the tempos. Thank you, Accidental Red members for helping us making our Firm 40th Anniversary Gala a very memorable one.

We booked Accidental Red for Oktoberfest at Cascades Overlook Town Center and they were a BIG hit! The families who attended just could not get enough of their great music. Their performance is thoroughly professional and the music is fantastic. They kept playing after the event ended since no one was leaving. We can’t wait to have them for another event.

Accidental Red was perfect! They are talented, pleasant, professional and accommodating. They did an excellent job performing at our "Jazz in the Park" event, and I received tons of compliments for having selected them. Everyone loved their music! In preparation for the event, they were extremely responsive and reliable. They brought their own equipment and accommodated our outdoor venue. They arrived well ahead of the event to set up, and played even longer than agreed upon. I strongly recommend Accidental Red and would definitely book them again.

The Band was fabulous and catered to the residents in a very unique way. They interacted, sang songs of our residents’ era and clearly had a love for their group and bringing joy to their audience. Every instrumentalist was extremely talented. The band had clearly practiced well and exhibited a great blend and balance in their performance. We truly enjoyed their smooth way of sharing of their talent and we hope to have them back in the future.
Pam P. FROM ANNANDALE, VA

Accidental Red performed for a summer concert for the Town of Occoquan and did a fantastic job! They were very professional in spite of rain delays. The crowd enjoyed their music immensely, as did I, and I do not typically like jazz! Their song choices were great and they engaged the crowd. Would absolutely hire them again!
