This is the big year! Forty years ago on July 25, 1978, the Faribault Area Nature Interpretive Center, Inc. was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization. In the years to follow, it became River Bend Nature Center and has served an important role and amenity for people and communities in southeastern Minnesota since then. As we reflect on the history and commitment of the many people that have made our existence possible, we’re planning for our most important fundraising event of the year. Please get involved with the 37th Annual River Bend Ramble, scheduled for the evening of Saturday, October 6th, 2018 at River Bend Nature Center. It will be an evening you will not want to miss as we celebrate River Bend and raise needed funds. Your involvement continues the River Bend legacy of helping people to experience firsthand the benefits and joys of time spent outdoors through: • environmental education, outdoor recreation programs, and special events reaching over 10,000 children, families, and people of all ages from Faribault and surrounding communities. • year-round opportunities for the public to enjoy the Straight River, 743 acres of woods, prairies, and wetlands including exhibits and wildlife viewing at the Interpretive Center with no entrance fees. • natural resource conservation, stewardship and habitat restoration activities.
