About

Whiskeys Quicker is a Valley-based rock cover band launched in 2011 by sports media personality Dan Bickley. Bickley is best known for his biting commentaries in The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com. Hes co-host of Bickley and MJ on XTRA 910-AM, twice voted best sports talk show in Arizona. His work and opinions are often featured on Ch. 12 News. But music has always been one of his passions, and this band is fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
Bickley first recruited Joe Palma as lead guitarist. Palma has played professionally in Los Angeles, jamming with some of the biggest names in the industry. He likes to travel the world and remain mysterious.
The band took wing when the guitarists landed Gabe Lugo, a thunderous drummer and Performing Arts teacher at Apollo High School. Lugo lives in Glendale, and when not molding minds of young musicians, he cheers for Arizona's sports teams and drinks really good beer.
Recent addition Mike VanOrden began his music ventures in 1993 where he played guitar in several heavy metal and progressive bands. He found himself playing bass and writing bass lines, so it was only natural for him to migrate to the axe. Following a 5 year hiatus from music, he came back full bore as a bass player, his true passion. When he's not shredding, he's running local bike shop Black Billy Bikes.
Lead Vocalist Kyran Brennan has been a Valley rock and roll fixture for years. He most recently spent the last 6 years portraying AC/DC's Bon Scott in a tribute that spanned the southwest. The stage loves Kyran, and he loves the stage. More than a rocker, he is the ultimate pater familias, who loves spending time with his family.

Talents combined, Whiskey's Quicker provides hours of live cover rock for the Valley of the Sun.

Typical Gig Duration: 45 - 180 minutes

Whiskey's Quicker is high energy rock at its best. Covering rocking classics and current rock hits, Whiskey's Quicker will rock your event! Steve will wow you with his vocal range, Joe can set the room on fire with his guitar licks, and Gabe will rock your face off with his smoldering drum chops. A whole lot of action, not a whole lot of talk. Professional and age-appropriate for the event, Whiskey's Quicker will keep the crowd entertained.
You may have seen Whiskey's Quicker at Friday Night Franks at Ft. McDowell Adventures, or in the rustic town of Greer, AZ, where they rocked the Molly Butler Lodge to benefit the Wallow Fire Recovery Fund. Whiskey's Quicker recently rocked the AZ Cardinals All Rock Stage at the Tempe Fiesta Bowl Block Party, where they pumped up the crowd awaiting 2012, and celebrated Arizona's Centennial at the AZ Best Fest. WQ also revs up the crowd for NASCAR events!
