Turnstyle is a Los Angeles-based vocal jazz group that puts a unique and edgy spin on a cappella arrangements of favorite jazz, rock, and R&B hits. In addition to singing sans instruments, the voices of Turnstyle can frequently come together with two acoustic guitars for a singer-songwriter sound that really rocks!
About
We are Turnstyle, an a cappella vocal jazz quartet (Kathi Funston: soprano; Melissa Pontanilla: alto; Martin Schloemer: tenor, and Ken Malouf: bass). We can provide an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, rock, pop & R&B music. We often perform a set of a cappella vocal jazz combined with a set of acoustic cover tunes where we include two guitars in the mix. We have played venues ranging from the Malibu Wines Tasting Room to community festivals around the LA area. This summer we were a featured group performing in the Youth in Harmony benefit concert at the Pearson Park Amphitheatre in Anaheim.
