Overview

About

Isn't it amazing how you can look back to when you were a small child and see how the hand of God was on you even then.

Born in St. Charles, MO, I was singing songs with my dad at the age of 2 or 3 and singing and playing guitar at age 7. Then just 2 weeks before my 13th birthday, I told my dad if he'd get me a piano I would learn to play it. He went out and got me an old upright piano and even though most of the ivories were missing from the keys I loved that piano.

All I had was an old church hymnal when I sat down for the first time. I don't know how else to explain what happened but just to tell you God gave me the ability to play from the very first time my fingers touched the keys. I never took a lesson but yet was playing that piano in 2 weeks. The first song I played was my dad's favorite, I'll Fly Away. My mom and dad could tell something supernatural was happening and on my 13th birthday in rolled a brand new beautiful piano. My dad started singing in church with me when I was 13 and I never stopped.

Not too many years later my family opened a Country Music Show for 16 years where we performed country, bluegrass, and most importantly, gospel music 6 nights a week. Married to the man God made for me with 2 wonderful daughters that have the heart of Jesus, we all were involved in the show. When my father suddenly passed away we couldn't face doing the show without him so we closed the doors.

I must be honest and say that losing my father and then finding out my mother, who was only in her 50's, had Early Onset Alzheimer's taught me about a sadness I never knew existed. I found myself unable to even stand the sound of music much less sing for a few years. It was just too painful. However, God being who He is knew I needed to share the gifts He had given me and once again the joy of music began to live in my heart, but this time it was different. This time not only was the music there, but God began giving me song after song.

My husband, 2 daughters and I were my mothers 24 hr a day Caregiver for 9 very difficult, and sometimes dark years. To watch what the disease of Alzheimer's did to my mother was torturous at best. The journey that God has guided me on has forever changed me into the Woman of God that I am today. My "New Purpose" was birthed out of my real-life experiences and the need to Comfort and Encourage others to see what God did for me He will do for you.

I've written a inspirational memoir about a 14 year period of my life, with the hope of reaching out to others who are experiencing Grief, Loss, Life, or Caregiving. My book "to remember love" is a book based on the true story of how my family and I were forced to live our lives clinging to the edge of a jagged cliff, while battling a fierce, non-stop, thirteen year storm.

Look around you and you will find someone that is a Caregiver, at least to some capacity. You couldn't have said that ten years ago. Sadly, we are becoming a Caregiving Nation.

Being a Caregiver was the most difficult, thankless, exhausting, challenging, frustrating, heartbreaking, and lonely job I ever did. However, being a Caregiver also gave me the opportunity to give the greatest gift of "Unconditional Love," and has left me reaping rewards that words just can't describe.

What makes this story different, is not only do I tell the raw truth of the struggles I experienced during an unrelenting storm, but I also show the reader how I found my way out of the darkness of my situation and into the light of a new day. It will comfort and encourage anyone who has experienced any type of loss, grief, or is weary from laying down their life to put someone else's life first, by caring for their every need.

"to remember love" will show you how to find your rainbow at the end of the storm you are going through. This book is an umbrella for you to hold on your stormiest days.

My words give a Voice to all the Caregivers, Compassion to all the Grieving, and Hope to all the Hopeless.

I CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

I love to lead Praise and Worship for services, and share Inspirational Speaking/Singing at all types of services. My "New Purpose" is a type of "Worship Without Walls."

I would love to come and share at your next Concert, Conference, Camp, Revival, Crusade, Retreat, Seminar, Church Service or Private Event.
